The industrial, barn-style home featured on pages 84 – 91 of Issue 70 is all about the materials, which include corrugated metal, steel, exposed brick, and expanses of varnished plywood.

When you discover that one of the couple that built the place is Stephanie Bentum, who works with wool and felt in her handmade creations for Krafthaus, the focus on tactile building materials all makes perfect sense. In the image below, you can see one of Stephanie’s felt throws on a bed.

I absolutely love this. The way they’ve pulled the charcoal colour from the brick and complimented it with the walls, trim, light stain on the paneling and accessories is wonderful.
