DECO Desirable: Cut-out porcelain plate stag head

We’re smitten with these porcelain plate cut-outs we recently produced for a fairytale-inspired shoot in our latest Ideas Issue (page 65). Lucky for you, were giving two away to a DECO reader…

WIN A miniature porcelain stag head (above). Simply comment below and tell us where in your home you’ll be displaying yours.

DECO CIY Cut miniature stag heads, or other shapes, out of Blue Willow or Delft-patterned plates. Ours were created by Tile Styles in Durban. We kept the original plates to display alongside the cutouts for a deconstructed look. And if you’re wondering about the wallpaper, it’s called ‘Near Sighted Print’, available from Hertex Fabrics.

For more contemporary-style animal trophy head displays, see our taxidermy-free ‘Kudu of cool’ CIY.

This competition is now closed.

I have lots of Willow Pattern stuff,I’m a sucker for it! Willow Ware is my fave, I really love collectables and vintage things. Even when I bought my first home, I knew I had to buy Willow Pattern crockery to go with it! I would really love to win the cut out porcelain plate & stag heads & have them placed on the wall above my antique dresser where all my Willow collectives are kept.
“My Willow ware plate has a story.
    Pictorial, painted in blue,
From the Land of tea and the tea plant,
And the little brown man with a queue. Whatever the food you serve, romance enters into the feast, if you pay heed to the Legend, of the old China plate from the East.” Love all things Willow…..
