Creation Wines Food & Wine Experience Worth R3000

Our editorial team is going to Creation Wines for a food and wine pairing next month. Tell us this doesn’t look like heaven on a plate?

If you’re in Cape Town, or are planning to go there soon, and you have a weakness for eating and drinking well, and you love a pretty drive through the winelands in winter, then this deal has your name on it.

What’s in for you? All of the above, and all of what’s below.

Two mixed cases of Creation Wines and a food and wine pairing session for four of you. (Your friends will love you.) Picture this: four sensational entree-size dishes paired with four unbelievable Creation wines.

The food-wine pairing sessions at Creation are sensational and are making their mark on the lips of wine lovers and foodies from Hermanus to Llandudno and in other far flung corners of the world. They’re also becoming famous for more unusual pairings, like wine and chocolate.

About the people you’ll meet there: the passionate owners of this stylish estate are Carolyn and JC (Jean-Claude) Martin, a successful Swiss viticulturalist and winemaker who joined the famous winery Grillette in the winelands of Neuchâtel where he clocked up experience and eventually became an owner.

They’ve have had a long love affair with wine. Carolyn is the daughter of acclaimed Cape winemaker, Walter Finlayson. After JC had visited the Cape winelands several times, cupid stepped in 1999 they married. In 2002, they hit on the idea of owning a piece of land against the Babylon Toren mountain, deep in blue crane and vine territory. So they dived right in, bought their little piece of heaven and planted 22 hectares of exceptional varietals. Inspired by the results of their first harvest, they commissioned the building of the high tech custom-designed winery fitted with everything of the best. The rest, as they say, is history.

To enter, post your comments below. Tell us…how badly do you want this, hmm? … and who will you take with you?

    1. I want it so badly that I can *almost* taste the Pinot Noir and the pepper-crusted duck…
    2. I’d take my favourite foodie friends, and make a Hemel-en-Aarde weekend of it.

  2. Anna says:

1.I have been there and oh my! are their wines amazing. Unfortunately, we were rushed for time and didn’t get the chance to try their taster/pairing menu. Something I’ve been dreaming about ever since.

So.Badly. I’d listen to a Bieber song instead of turning the radio off until I estimate the song is complete. Really.

I’d take my amazing but (sadly) very wine-un-savvy man and some friends that appreciate the culture of wine.

I love wine so much that I even been to Napa Valley. What struck me the most was that Cape Town wine regions make better wines that what I tasted there. Also the Cape wine regions are incredibly beautiful, having visited wine estates in Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Robertson. The only place I haven’t experience yet is the Hemel and Aarde Valley, and a road trip with my 3 of my best friends will make my year. I want to enjoy enjoy good food, good wine and great friends on a beautiful estate.

By far one of my favourite food/wine tasting wine farms because it has all the trappings: breath-taking views, stylish decor, passionate owners, skilled staff, elegant wines and mouth-watering meals. After enduring the looooong dusty “grondpad” you are rewarded with a little piece of paradise – Creation Wine Farm. It is like literally finding the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow :) If given the opportunity again i would like to share this Hemel-en-Aarde experience with my fiance and my two friends who’s getting married in November

  8. Tina says:

I don’t understand much about wine and would love a Creation Wines Food & Wine Experience! I’m from (beer-drinking!) northern Europe and my husband is from The Cape. When the family moved to South Africa we ended up in Gauteng. Do I need to say more? I would bring my fun-loving and wine-loving husband, and two close friends who has helped me to settle in South Africa, are fun travel company and enjoy Food and Wine!

How much do I want this prize? Is that a rhetorical question!? Uhmm, well, on a scale of 1-10, I’d say 10 just about every time! I’d take a group of the best wine and food loving friends, my camera to take some dizzying shots of the view, and I’d leave with a full belly and a very happy heart.

  10. I love the vineyard – you are right it is heaven on earth!
