Since JC and Carolyn Martin established Creation Wines in 2002, this trendsetting winery on the picturesque Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge near Hermanus has more than lived up to its name. Creation is synonymous with creativity and originality – and their its reputation goes well beyond wine. Over the past decade, the enterprising Creation team has introduced picnics in the vineyards, vineyard safaris, food & wine pairings and, and, and.

The food-wine pairings are sensational. They’re making an impact on the lips of wine lovers and foodies from Hermanus to Llandudno and in other far flung corners. The estate has also become famous for more unusual pairings, like wine and chocolate.
Owners Carolyn and JC (Jean-Claude) Martin, have an interesting story to tell. JC is a Swiss viticulturalist and winemaker who joined the famous winery Grillette in the winelands of Neuchâtel where he clocked up experience – and eventually became an owner.

Teapots and Modernism put the icing on Versailles

I would like to take along Jackie Buss as she is a darling new friend whom I met on Twitter recently, and I reckon her and I deserve some treats
Well it all depends on which prize I win! Lol! However, I will definitely include my fiance! When we started dating he didn’t drink wine (was a brandy boy) but I slowly coached and trained him, first with white wines, then slowly moving on to reds and today he is almost a wine connoisseur! We both enjoy our wine tasting expeditions with our friends and love to unexpectantly come across a one in a million find that makes you believe in all things good again!
So I will include my wine loving friends: Elsje, Francois, Cecile and Karien who are always willing to explore a new wine estate with us! That’s if I win the first prize.. wink wink!
I would definitely take my BFF and soul sister Annabel with me. We both love fine wine and good food and we have such an awesome time together.
If given the opportunity i would like to share this Hemel-en-Aarde experience with my fiance and my two friends who’s getting married in November. My fiance suffered a terrible ordeal 4 months back, broken his left leg and was bed ridden all this time. His cast came off yesterday and will resume with fisio. To experience breath-taking views, stylish decor, passionate owners, skilled staff, elegant wines and mouth-watering meals, will do him the world of good,as he has missed out on so much the last few months. I believe every cloud has a silver lining and this Creation Wines experience can be ours
I would like to go on the Vineyard safari & picnic with my family – my husband, kids sister & nephew. Wine, a picnic, room for kids to run (Creation looks quite kiddie friendly?!), spring on its way… A great reason to go to Hermanus for the weekend & a wonderful way to spend a day!
September is a bumper birthday month for the people that mean most in my life. Its my mom and best friend’s (on the same day), my ex (we turned out to be better friends than partners), and my new awesome friend that I met this year. I’m leaving the country soon so a drive to the Hemel-en-Arde valley will be the best treat I could do for them before I leave. We all love and appreciate wine (and enjoy an occasional road trip) so prize will be great joint celebration (birthday surprise for them and farewell to Western Cape for me)
I’d take my sister and girlfriends along! This busy time of year, we all need some beautiful scenery, amazing food, and of course – the star of the show – incredible wine
I’d love to take my recently-a-wine-convert boyfriend to enjoy this amazing taste experience, as well as my wine-lovers-for-years friends to share in the delight with us!
I would love to make my fiancè…. We recently got engaged and have not formally celebrated this milestone with our amazing family members…. What an amazing opportunity this would be! Hmmmm
shew, some fab prizes for sure!!! I would take My boyfriend Mark along with me – he has been in Europe for 4 months on tour for work and what better way to celebrate coming back to the Cape after so so long!! We are both wine fans as well so all in all this would be one great experience for us
I shall be holding thumbs very tightly !!
I would like to take my husband and kids on a picnic to Kirstenbosch!
I would most definitely take my husband along. We are happily married for 22years and I would love to spoil him with something as nice as this!He is the most loving man, friend and father in the whole world
Definitely Hubby – after going away with him this past weekend I realized once again that he is my best friend and we have the same interests and after being married for 27 years stil enjoy doing everything together.
I would take my dear friend and wonderful husband Dean Wallenkamp because he deserves something like this plus it is my birthday this month so we can really celebrate.
I would definitely take my sister along, together with two of my girlfriends. I would have to give the wine to my brother in law of course, as he would be looking after my 5 year old son and his twins for the day while we were living it up in the vineyards!!
I would like to take my husband. Food is a passion for us, the hobby we always like doing together. Making food in the evenings or enjoy a nice picknick on a beautiful bineyard
