A tableware store founded by Trevyn and Julian McGowan of Source, ODEON offers a carefully curated section of handmade iconic artisanal brands, including the globally renowned ceramics range Wonki Ware, Ngwenya Glass, Ilovani, Indigi, Gone Rural, Ginger Cat and many others.

Trevyn and Julian McGowan are the dynamic husband-and-wife team who have transformed the South African design landscape over the past 10 years. Through their company, Source, they export local design product to high-end international retailers such as Anthropologie and The Conran Shop.

They are the founders of Southern Guild (and the not-for-profit Southern Guild Design Foundation), the foremost collectable design gallery in South Africa.

In 2014 they launched GUILD, Africa’s first international design fair, in Cape Town, and were also selected as curators of the new Watershed project at the V&A Waterfront.

  • It’s Summer so I’d serve something we can put outside on the veranda.. to share with friends with a great wine cooler:
    Various cold meats (prepared at home): broken pieces of honey/rosemary roasted chicken, tongue and frikkadels.. with side salads: couscous with pumpkin seeds, roasted garlic, roasted butternut and a fresh green salad with mixed lettuce leaves, grated raw beetroot, nuts, olives, crispy onion bits, rosa tomatoes, and slithers of dried apricots with a home-made pomegranate and olive oil dressing 🙂
