ArdMore, MaXhosa by Laduma, Wiid Design, Pichulik, and Simon & Mary are just a few among thirty-eight South African brands featured as part the South African retail exhibition currently running in Paris at Le BHV/Marais.
The exhibition, which will run until the 31st of July opened earlier this week on the 14th of July. It is a collaborative effort between Artlogic, the organisers behind high-end boutique fairs such as the FNB JoburgArtFair and the Sanlam Handmade Contemporary, communication and events company, This is Cape Town, and Le BVH/Marais, a department store of the group of Galeries Lafayette, right in the heart of Paris. With over 60 000 daily visitors, the store presents an opportunity to expose international audiences and buyers to the electric pulse of a South African creative energy.
Says Artlogic CEO, Mandla Sibeko: “ Taking our brands into a large international retailing environment moves us closer to our audacious goal of ultimately securing permanent international supply contracts between the brands and the store, as well as other buyers in Paris. We see this trade and export opportunity as just one step in the pursuit of getting our high quality South African products, which we so love, into homes and stores all across the globe. This project will craft a progressive narrative around the South African artisanal design market, which is growing and thriving with a new audacity and vigour.”
