BIKINI BERLIN is one of the few still preserved contemporary witnesses of Berlin’s turbulent history during the post-war period of the 1950s. The “Zentrum am Zoo” ensemble, which was completed in 1957 by architects Paul Schwebes and Hans Schoszberger, is a symbol of Berlin City-West’s cityscape.

25 Hours Hotel – an innovative hotel experience with a unique design concept

DECO recently spent a little time in Germany exploring the Hansgrohe factories. Tell you what, if we had been any where near Berlin this is where we would have stayed.

The 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin is as diverse as the big city it is located in and as wild as a jungle. The hotel showcases cosmopolitan Berlin at its location in the listed Bikini-Haus building between the Tiergarten park and Breitscheidplatz with Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. The hotel is popular thanks to the restaurant and bar on the top floor with a 360° rooftop terrace and first-class views of the city and the Tiergarten park.

Nature, culture, and creativity collide in Berlin where an ‘urban jungle’ offers 360-degree views of Germany’s capital.

The design concept of the hotel comes from designer Werner Aisslinger and his team. Using the interplay of nature and culture, they have come up with a holistic design concept under the working title “Urban Jungle”.

One half of the total of 149 rooms looks out over the animal enclosure of the Zoological Garden and follows a warmer design scheme with natural materials and colours. The other half affords views of one of Berlin’s best-known landmarks, the Memorial Church on Breitscheidplatz. The design of these rooms is more urban and somewhat rawer, in reflection of Berlin’s edgy, creative side.

neni restaurant

Berlin is big and bustling. And its culinary diversity is equally big and diverse. The 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin contributes to this diversity with its NENI Berlin restaurant. Inspired by Haya Molcho and her NENI restaurant at Naschmarkt in Vienna, the eating experience here always includes a sharing, passionate moment.

The idea is that everyone is able to try a little of everything, and pots and pans are taken from the kitchen and placed directly on the table without any airs or graces. Whether it’s a light lunch, a replenishing bite to eat or an extensive evening meal with a dessert, the menu always expresses what’s important: curiosity.

Monkey Bar is located right next to the restaurant on the tenth floor and is an evening and night-time hotspot for top drinks and delicious bar food created by NENI. It’s the perfect place to take in the view of the city and the Tiergarten park, and to experience and absorb Berlin’s dynamism and lifestyle.
