Catch our ‘dressed’ chairs in store

We visited the shops of the four fashion designers who revamped a ‘Shieldback’ chair by Pierre Cronje for our latest issue (see ‘1 Chair, 4 Ways’ on page 18) to see how the chairs look in store. We think they look quite fabulous!

Malcolm Kluk’s and Christiaan Gabriel du Toit’s ‘Black Widow’ chair (above, left) captures their sophisticated, eclectic style with Vlisco print fabric covering the entire chair and an Italian-inspired black tulle veil.

David West‘s ‘Unnamed’ chair (above, right) turned the chair’s structure upside down – just like his deconstructed clothing. He has proudly displayed it on a table in his shop.

There’s an incredible amount of intricate work in Stefania Morland‘s ‘Onyx’ chair (above, left), whose seat is covered in gathered pieces of netting and tulle, interwoven with ribbons and beads.

The cheekily named ‘Marlene Seatrich’ chair (above, right) by Gabi Rosenwerth fits in perfectly among her luxurious designs.

You can see the chairs in the designers’ stores at:
