The simplest things really are the best. Case in point: the 74 geometric rubberwood shapes that make up a bag of PlayShapes. These modular pieces can be endlessly arranged or stacked to produce hundreds of 3D creations, with only your imagination setting limitations. Via SwissMiss I first saw the work of Cape Town silversmith Nic Wells Bladen on the finger of a friend. Before their wedding, she and her husband-to-be had gone walking with Bladen, where they’d picked seasonal grasses and twisted rings from them. These ephemeral constructions were then cast in silver, creating the most lovely, delicate wedding rings [...] Supermarket Sarah was once a corporate gal, but left that all behind her when she decided to set up shop in her own home, and on the internet too.
