Church gift shop sports cool sticker art

We suggest you pop in at Church gift shop to see their fantastical new shop front window. It’s been plastered with thousands of stickers, forming a shiny window wallpaper display. We witnessed quite a few passersby stopping, and quite literally gawking at these shiny shapes…

Having just returned from Buenos Aires, owners Peet Pienaar and Hannerie Visser brought with them thousands of stickers to transform the shop front window and interior of Church. “Stickers are HUGE in Argentina, so we thought it would be nice to introduce it to our little South African shop front to create a more festive vibe”, says Hannerie.

DECO DIY Make your own! Church found cheap stickers from vendors outside the Golden Acre and the Cape Town Train Station. We suggest you also try Cardies, CNA, or Pick n Pay. DECO editor Laureen Rossouw recently spotted sticker art at The Leopard Restaurant in Parkhurst, and says stickers are perfect for a cheap DIY wallpaper. See the intricate sticker wallpaper patterns below in the multimedia exhibition The Salon at Sundown, by Brian Kaspr and Payton Turner…
