If your kitchen is feeling a little stale and lifeless, then you may want to consider injecting some passion and personality back into the heart of the home by making a few small changes.
CHANGE THE HARDWARE
Changing the hardware in your kitchen offers possibly the biggest impact, yet is often never thought of – and its so much simpler than it seems. Simply swap out your dated and boring knobs, handles and drawer pulls and replace them with brushed brass, reflective crystal or silver ones to give your kitchen a fresh new look.
ADD A SPLASH OF COLOUR
Love a neutral colour palette for your kitchen but want to add some excitement? Paint the inside of your cabinets in a bright hue or cover it in wallpaper – that way the overall aesthetic of your kitchen won’t be affected but you will have an added element of surprise.
DISPLAY PERSONAL ITEMS
While open shelving may not be for everyone, a display of carefully selected personal items hits the sweet spot in customising a kitchen. Show off your extensive selection of cookbooks, vintage copper pans or pottery collection by making sure they’re artfully arranged and visible to all.
The artwork you choose to display in your home says a lot about your personality so why not bring it into the kitchen too. Adding a piece of artwork to your kitchen area is a great conversation starter when you are entertaining and inevitably have guests gathering in the kitchen.
SUPPORT YOUR HABITS
Enjoy baking up a storm? Dedicate a special area in your kitchen to baking supplies and equipment. Consider yourself a coffee addict or enjoy daily cups of tea? Set up a beverage station. Create a space for your favourite kitchen activities so that you can indulge you favourite kitchen pass times with ease.
