The way you dress up your bedroom is the simplest and most effective way to update your bedroom from season to season. Kelly Adami of Copperleaf Studio gives us some tips.
Choose scatters in your favourite hues and complement with layers of throws and quilts. This can dramatically change the look of your space.
1. Tips for a small bedroom?
See ’dead space’ as an opportunity to create storage. For example, include drawers in the base of your bed. Also, try to design elements that are multifunctional, such as a window seat that doubles as a chest of drawers. And lastly, if you don’t have a lot of floor space, make the most of your walls where you can. Wall- mounted lights next to the bed, for example, eliminate the need for bulky side tables or table lamps.
2. Technological advances that are a must?
One thing to consider is regulating the temperature of your bedroom. Apparently it is ideal to sleep in a room that is regulated between 20 and 22°C. Make sure your aircon or heating system is easy to control from your bed to ensure the most comfortable night’s sleep.
3. Trendy ideas and colour palettes for bedrooms?
Colour has a huge impact on our mood and energy levels. While bright and saturated colours make us feel invigorated, cool and soft colours make us feel calm so it’s a good idea to use these options for a bedroom so that you feel relaxed before you go to bed. Cool greys are a fantastic option because they are both timeless and soothing.
