Visiting Neville and Sharon Trickett’s Durban home was not only a coup for DECO in terms of showing a home of exceptional originality and taste, but we were also given a no-holds-barred access into the mind – and wardrobe – of a man with a sophisticated, painstakingly accumulated clothing and accessories offering.

Neville opened his closet for us and we marvelled, firstly, at his shoes. Hundreds of pairs collected from all over the world – copper-cast brogues to two-toned leather and suede Church lace ups to worn-in leather wonders. He describes his style as ‘classically sloppy’ where he combines, for example, a pair of expensive shoes with a R29 Mister Trickett Tshirt (from his collection in collaboration with Mr Price). He also has an abundance of shoe polishes from J Crew online and The Shoe Snob London as well as an enviable collection of sunglasses. His ties are also from the  Mister Trickett collection designed by Neville available at www.mistertrickett.com – inarguably one of the coolest sites in terms of trends, shopping and inspiration in menswear.

Enamoured by the man, his home, his style and his humorously acerbic view of the world, below we present his likes and things that he doesn’t like very much. For the DECO exclusive of his home, go out and buy your copy of our Fashion Issue which is on shelf right now.

  1. The links posted in the article (to http://www.mistertrickett.com as well as to his design collection) go to blanks or they don’t exist. Sooo disappointing because I wanted to see more of his contemporary work since I’ve been a fan of his style from when he had the shop off Marriott Road in Durban and also his shop at 44 Stanley Road in Joburg – sadly all now gone.

  2. Sorry about this! It seems both no longer exist. I have contacted Mr Trickett and will let you know the new URL as I can

Thank you for letting us know.
