Walking down bustling Kloof Street in Cape Town, it’s easy to miss this gem. Hidden amongst lush greenery, a beautifully tiled stair case stands, leading up to what appears to be a twentieth century Victorian house…
Like a home, Kloof Street House is made up of different rooms and personally decorated areas. It’s like coming home and feeling totally relaxed, comfortable and indulged. The decor is quirky and mismatched with an unintimidating feel about it. It’s tempting to kick off your shoes and curl up in one of their comfy couches, or pick out a book to read while enjoying an afternoon cocktail.
The menu is local and decadent, from simple sides and tapas to more-ish mains. The cocktail and wine list is top notch, and for some people the definite highlight, with an exotic take on your regular favourites as well as fresh, alternatives to try. Your standard french fries and bubbles have never tasted so good…
In true homely fashion, we believe in bringing people together over feasts and great conversation.
And did we mention the courtyard? Just a step away from the hustle of the city, you can escape in their retreat-like outdoor area with shaded palms and fresh air – perfect for Cape Town summer.
