Local designers Stiaan Louw and Laduma Ngxokolo presented their latest looks yesterday at London Fashion Week for the Ubuntu International project held at Vauxhall Fashion Scout.

Laduma showed off his vibrant MaXhosa knitwear patterns (as seen in our recent Winter and International issues), while Stiaan introduced new colours and fabrics to his summer look, with hot accessories by DECO favourites Missibaba and Ida Elsje. We were particularly excited by Stiaan’s hot colour combos and mix of textures on display.

“Within their designs traditional influences are evident along with a particular heritage aesthetic that translates as a new fresh look. One that is not geographically confined but also African and Eurocentric at the same time”, says Errol Hendrickse of Ubuntu. The Ubuntu International project is a three year program aimed at promoting South African talent on the international stage.
