One Star House Party: Worldwide Pop-up Restaurant Comes To SA

The One Star House Party team, led by Chef James Sharman is on a world wide culinary expedition to create 20 pop-up restaurants, in 20 countries, over 20 months.

The mother city is the 8th stop on their tour and will only run until the 11th of May. Their pop-up hub of culinary creativity is a Woodstock apartment which they have converted into a relaxed dinning space.

The team lands in each country four days prior to their opening in order to experience, re-interpret and collect local cuisine and ingredients before creating their original 7 course dining experience. There are no waiters and each course is brought to you by one of the chefs who run you through the dish, its elements and the inspiration behind it.

You can look forward to a one-of-a-kind dining experience which will offer an unexpected and fresh take on South African local cuisine. The menu is only revealed on the night but once you’ve made a booking you can request a vegetarian option or let them know of any food intolerances. The team has created incredible pop-up restaurant experiences ranging from the base camp of Everest to a floating restaurant in Kenya. Countries still to come are Iceland, Italy, Germany, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Japan, UK, USA, Canada, Tasmania and China.
