“Iconic, sensuous, delicate, punk, the colour pink is a chameleon. It can be pretty and refined or rebellious and tough, all based on its environment and beholder.” Kelly Wearstler
The cover of our latest issue, the Fashion Issue, is pretty pink. It features pink ombre fabric from Designer’s Guild and a dusty pink bed from C20 Galerie. This is no coincidence, the DECO team are increasingly being drawn to pink decor, in spite of ourselves. Our gift bags are now pink, we painted our Plantation Shutters in the office pink; we just can’t get enough.
From candyfloss to carnation, rose to ruby and salmon to neon, this boldly feminine colour is well worth celebrating.
Pink is universally flattering.
The mercurial ability of pink to embody many different personalities and vibes at the same time is , for me , at the crux of pink’s appeal.
Pink embodies that ineffable dichotomy of what it means to be a woman. Full of feminine allure, beguiling charm and mystique, it can be anything it wants.
