Up-and-coming Swedish designer Jens Fager uses his bandsaw to roughly cut Swedish pine into furniture, saying that these rough-surfaced, painted pieces are based on naive or surreal cartoon sketches turned into 3-dimensional designs, like this RAW table and rocker.

Last year, Fager created tables, chairs and other furniture for Swedish celebrity chef Tommy Myllymäkis’ restaurant, Julita Wärdshus. He called this collection Grovhugget , which is Swedish for “rustic”

Jens Fager’s designs are available through Muuto.

  1. I hope these look better in person. They look like cheap stuff you find on craigslist that are old and possibly mildewy and have been badly painted. Or something made for stagecraft. The candelabra looks made of clay by a 4th grader!
