Dreaming of Singita Sweni Lodge

Sweni Lodge’s location – on a riverbank in a private concession in the Kruger National Park – has always been a source of inspiration for the design aesthetic of this luxury lodge. A recent revamp, helmed by GAPP Architects and local design team Cécile & Boyd, has introduced new features to the lodge, such as a pool with views over the Sweni River and a secluded pool suite. The beautifully decorated en-suite units are open-plan and all have outdoor showers overlooking the river. Outdoor beds allow you to spend a night under the stars. The decor in the lodge is ultra-contemporary and echoes the surroundings, drawing on the iridescent sheen of bird feathers, butterfly wings and beetle shells, as well as incorporating neutral tones and reflective accents like gold, bronze, polished mud and marble.

Renowned chef Liam Tomlin has crafted a ‘dining experience’ across indoor and outdoor areas. In addition to guided safari walks, mountain biking, game drives, archery and various family- friendly activities, there is a spa with a range of restorative treatments – why not try the Sun-Kissed Journey massage?
