Behold, our brand new and very first #AfricaIssue! The DECO team set the bar high, and we are confident that it is rather fantastic. From Milan to Lembombo, we trekked, styled, gathered and created the best content for you. We hope it brings to focus even just a hint of how diverse and exceptional African design is, and we hope it encourages you to become Afro-Optimists…
“We need to remix our future, stay ambitious, and stay proud.” – Editor, Bielle Bellingham
THIS IS AFRICA
…and we love it. In a constant state of expansion, adaption, elaboration and innovation, Africa and ‘Africaness’ is trending and so for this story we needed the best of the best. In the short space of a week we had hustled a band of nine members from Pretoria to Cape Town and thus African Rhythm Production became the protagonists of our this feature. Go behind the scenes with us here.
A private haven, your bedroom is where you sleep, love, dream and live. Make it so exquisite that you have a valid excuse to stay in bed all day.
MILAN FURNITURE FAIR
According to DECO editor, Bielle Bellingham’s iPhone, she walked over 12km a day seeking out the latest and greatest of what the Milan Furniture Fair had to offer. In this issue we share with you a 6 page feature of all things that turned her head and the trends that will define 2016.
For our travel feature, our Art Director and Managing Editor trekked to the Kruger National Park with Adel Ferreira to discover the newly renovated Singita Lebombo Lodge. In this 10 page feature, we present the future of safari experience.
There is peace and freedom in the simplicity. The lodge is engulfed by the landscape, as if you can reach out and touch it.
