DECO popped into UMI in Camps Bay for the launch of its whisky bar.
Camps Bay isn’t the hottest summer spot for nothing – with its strip of cosmopolitan restaurants and bars overlooking the beach, it’s one of the best places to enjoy summer sundowners. And if sugary sweet cocktails aren’t your thing, head to UMI’s new whisky bar for a stylish tipple.
Designed by Paul Kovensky, MD of Kove Collection, the intimate whisky bar at UMI only seats 40 people in its plush, comfortable setting. The bar stocks more than 100 varieties of whisky from all over globe, each one with a Jim Murray rating and details about its region of origin. But you won’t just be savouring the world’s best whiskies – UMI is a strong contender for the best sushi in Cape Town, and its modern Japanese food is a step up from the usual burgers-and-beer fare.
