Art in the forest

Art in the Forest is a non-profit social enterprise, which operates from a Bauhaus building in the beautiful Cecilia Forest, off Constantia Nek circle in Cape Town.

Run by well-known Master Potter Anthony Shapiro, the mission at Art in the Forest is to mentor young, aspiring ceramists and to give children from under-serviced areas access to art and creativity. The profits of our business go directly towards our foundation called ‘Light from Africa’.

Our proudly South African, contemporary studio line is produced on site and is aptly named ‘Forestware’. Our ceramics are sold locally and abroad; stockists include the Conran Stores in London and ABC Carpet and Home in New York City.

Available from The Watershed, V&A Waterfront

  12. These stunning ceramic pieces are big and bold, and hence need just the right place to show them off – I see them on a very simplistic round table, in the middle of my large entrance hall, with fantastic lighting from above – both the large volumes of natural light during the day, as well as the artificial lighting at night, will create a truly spectacular showpiece.

  13. Right on top of my antique display cabinet, the first thing you see when you come in my front door. I’d dying in anticipation already!
