The newly opened eatery, Dapper Coffee Co, adds an interesting dimension to Bree Street’s bustling atmosphere and they popped up just in time – the DECO team needed a reason to celebrate their latest issue and what better way than to sip on sweet juices and indulge on sublime croissants?

Always on the look out for new and exciting spots to visit, when Dapper caught our attention we couldn’t wait to try their menu and get a sense of their unique store layout. The café is situated within a car showroom, Club9, owned by Dirk Molsen who stocks his showroom with classic and luxury sports cars. His wife, Lauren Molsen runs Dapper Coffee Co with their son, Alex – all of whom welcome customers with enthusiastic smiles.

Chef, Luke Wonnacott designed a locally inspired menu based on seasonal produce. From gourmet burgers, to slow stewed chickpeas on sourdough toast, the menu offers an array of items – fit for any mood or time of day! Not forgetting their special blend of coffee which will compliment any dish you choose.

Both Dapper and Club9 were designed by Toni Unterberger, from Rivets and Rockets, the space has a strong masculine feel to it, with the use of natural materials such as dark wooden flooring and furniture, charcoal painted walls and dark marble accents. The large glass windows and bar area opening on to Bree Street gives the space an airy finish and manages to bring just enough light in without straying away from their ‘man-cave’ feel. Surrounded by beautiful cars it is definitely an old-world and unique, experience for visitors.

Dapper Coffee Co is situated on the corner of Bree and Strand street in Cape Town. They’re open from 7am unit 5pm on weekdays and 8am until 3pm on Saturdays. You can enjoy their breakfast throughout the week from 7am until 11:30am.
