Friday last week, we were just saying how in love we are with the botanical installations in artist Claire Basler’s flower house in Les Ormes, France. The house, featured in our latest Elle Decoration ‘Spring Spirit’ Issue 86, is a flourish of floral joy, with vases, jars and containers of every size and description grouped abundantly in virtually every room. Claire Basler spends literally hours, every day, working her magnificent arrangements.
Next thing, this bloomin’ prettiness leaps out at us in Long Street, Cape Town, over the weekend.
Long Street is one of the happening streets in our Stad, and the charming botanically inspired installation in the window pictured above is that of designer vintage clothes store, Afraid Of Mice.
Take a closer look. These are charming ideas that one can pick and choose from, and use anywhere at home. (Thanks A.O.Mice for the inspiration.) A lovely idea: – buy inexpensive ornamental birds and pair them with indigenous wild flowers in a vase to create a romantic arrangement. Or hang them from gut, like in this window display, for more of a spectacle.
