Are you the next ELLE Boss? In a nationwide search to find outstanding female businesswomen in leadership roles across South Africa, our sister title ELLE has launched a very special competition. Do you have what it takes to win – or do you know someone who does?
An #ELLEBoss is visionary, outstanding and a leader to watch for the future.
– Gisèle Wertheim-Aymés, ELLE publisher
Calling all inspiring businesswomen! The 2015 ELLE Boss Award, in partnership with the Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award, is now open for entries.
Could she be you? An ELLE Boss is a natural leader in business, she is confident, strong and committed, and a risk-taker that is not afraid to think out of the box and ask for what she wants. In South Africa, where only three women made it into the 2014 Top 100 CEOs list, gender empowerment in business is a top priority and ELLE wants to challenge the status quo by recognising, rewarding and giving women the acknowledgement they deserve.
WHAT WILL SHE WIN?
One ELLE Boss winner will be awarded for her achievement from one of two categories: Corporate and Entrepreneurial. She will be flown to attend the prestigious Veuve Clicquot Business Women Award event hosted by Veuve Clicquot in Reims, France, the home of Champagne. The trip will take place in 2016 and will include all flights and accommodation.
The runner up will receive a top of the range smartphone, and a special Veuve Clicquot Experience including a private dinner for her and five guests.
Four further ELLE Boss runners up will also receive a top of the range smartphone and a Magnum bottle of Veuve Clicquot.
HOW TO ENTER?
Women can enter here in one of two categories: Entrepreneur or Corporate. All women entering should be not younger than 25, and not older than 45 years old.
The Entrepreneur category awards an inspiring woman who has been in business for longer than two years and is able to show a healthy balance sheet with a minimum turnover of R1 million.
The Corporate category awards an inspiring woman who demonstrates managerial skills, social responsibility and leadership.
A woman matching the Entrepreneur or Corporate category can either self-nominate, with a mentor or manager seconding their application, or they can be nominated (but they will need to consent to the nomination). There will be three finalists per category and one overall winner who will be awarded the ELLE Boss of 2015.
CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES: 5 AUGUST 2015
The ELLE Boss Awards event will be held on 27 August in Johannesburg to celebrate the finalists on their achievements. The closing date for entries is Wednesday, 5 August.
Pascal Asin, Moët Hennessy Managing Director Africa and Middle East, says:
‘Veuve Clicquot is a proud supporter of women in business internationally, honouring our founder Madame Clicquot, who established herself as one of the first leading female figures in the world of business. Our prestigious Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award seeks to identify and celebrate outstanding women and honour their entrepreneurial spirit.
‘We are therefore extremely proud to partner with ELLE magazine in South Africa to present the ELLE Boss Award. This award champions the success of South African business women who share the same inspirational qualities as Madame Clicquot: an enterprising spirit, creativity, courage, determination and, of course, success.’
