In Barceló Torre de Madrid hotel’s 6m-high lobby, guests are greeted by an enormous sculpture of a bear adorned in zebra stripes and tipping a gold top hat in welcome. This distinct feature is not only a quirky nod to Madrid’s coat of arms, which depicts a bear and a strawberry tree, but also sets the tone for the rest of the space.
