Taking a look at the cross-section between fashion and decor, DECO’s New Luxury issue also includes a special focus on bedrooms. One bedroom in particular caught our eye, tucked away in the romantic 17th century Roman townhouse, apartments CasaCau.
CasaCau, a stone’s throw from the Trevi fountain, is a Roman townhouse steeped in history and contains five elegant apartments designed by studio Nora P+P – each showcasing unique design details from antique trinkets to custom-made furniture created by local craftsman and designers.
In our current Fashion Issue, we take a closer look at Apartment No. 4 in CasaCau; featuring a bed-installation, offering a discreet passage to the bathroom and creating an unusual subdivision of the space. The bedroom boasts a geometric headboard, and the floor is a mix of marble grit and concrete.
The small brass tables are from the 1960s wile the vintage leather armchair dates back to the ’70s and the whole space clearly represents the thought process behind the interior of CasaCau by designer Nora Pastora:
The whole CasaCau concept was characterised by an immersion of all the senses… creating a space that brings together aesthetics, functionality, comfort, tradition and innovation all at the same time. – Nora Pastora (designer)
A fashionable blend of function and form is evident right from the entranceway and continues through the house. As well as the wistfully romantic palette of soft pinks, punctuated with classic brass and contemporary geometry, the rich textures and soft furnishings lend a relaxed luxury to the historic space. A stay at CasaCau is at the top of DECO’s wish list.
