This year between 10 and 5 teamed up with Velocity Afrika to make their first ever Young South Africa Video. While the country commemorates The Soweto Uprisings of June 16th 1976, this video takes a look at Young South Africa now through the thoughts and work of upcoming young creatives. They spoke to them about the state of the local creative industry and SA youth culture in general, how far it has come since 1994 and how they hope to see it growing in the future.

The creatives interviewed in the video include Singer and Songwriter Nakhane Touré, Filmmaker/Photographer/Musician Sibs Shongwe-La Mer, Photographers Sipho Mpongo, Sean Metelerkamp and Wikus de Wet who are embarking on The Twenty Journey, Photographer Caroline Mackintosh, Stylist Gabrielle Kannemeyer, Photographer Trevor Stuurman, Fashion Designer Tzvi Karp and Gallery Owner/Art Curator Zama Phakathi from StopSign Art Gallery.

We commend between 10 and 5 for their commitment to South African creativity and in particular, our creative youth.
