Japan, the land of the rising sun and home to the most bizarre and bustling city, Tokyo. After living in Tokyo for many years the new Superbalist shoot came to my desk with great anticipation and didn’t disappoint.
Known for boundary-breaking ideas and a no-rules-apply approach to style, Tokyo served as an ideal location for a shoot that was all about putting a new spin on cold-weather style.
Celebrating ‘the new, the now and all things innovative’ the Superbalist team took to the streets of Tokyo with Alisa Ueno, Creative Director and Designer of Fig & Viper and Thian Pillay, Brand Director of Losers Footwear Tokyo.
Tokyo is at the forefront of fashion, nightlife and technological advances, put it all together and the result is quite something. An energy like no other. The youth culture in Japan is trailblazing the way in terms of trends, with nothing being too extreme or over the top.
Superbalist is a fashion-focused, multi-channel eCommerce platform that brings the world’s best brands into the homes of its SA customers, and is the first of its kind in Africa. From award-winning content created for its blog, The Way of Us, to its newlylaunched mobile app, Superbalist continues to lead the way when it comes to authentic engagement and tapping into youth – connecting with a customer who’s always evolving and forever on the go.
