Smith Studio is opening their doors to the public for the first time in style! With a fresh new space comes fresh new talent. Introducing CAPE TOWN, a solo series by Kurt Pio.
In this body of work, Pio pays a special and witty tribute to the Mother City. Inspired by sights, sounds and tastes, he explores Cape Town as a destination city using a variety of media including painting, sculpting and printmaking.
He also gives audiences a chance to connect with his work on a personal level by using colour combinations to represent iconic sites such as Bo-Kaap and Clifton Beach (that famous Granadilla Lolly may or may not also be set to make an appearance).
CAPE TOWN will be open to the public on the 25th of February at 6PM and will run until the 25th of March.
SMITH is located on 56 Church Street and specialises in new works by a broad range of established and emerging artists. This is definitely not the last you will hear about them! Visit smithstudio.co.za for more information For more work from Kurt Pio, you can visit his website kurtpio.co.za.
