With party season about to sweep us off our feet, ELLE DECO guest blogger Jaco Janse van Rensburg sent us a Part II to his retrospective on the Eighties, posted here last month to celebrate ELLE DECO’s 25th birthday:

Download the Dirty Dancing soundtrack and get ready to C.I.Y. The artwork, created by the talented Miss Bia van Deventer, can be downloaded here and here in black and white. A3 is perfect for a place setting, but you can go even bigger (A0) for a poster. You will need stickers, ribbon, some basic tools & lots of imagination.

Have a look at my Dirty Dancing moodboard for inspiration and colour.

The idea is to customise your artwork with the crayons, pencils and stickers.

Gold, silver, pastels and a hit of neon will get the party started. Your placemat is ready for the table. How many guests have RSVP’d? And did you remember the cocktail recipes?

You can even use the prints as wrapping paper. Just add a few sassy decorations to spoil your guests.

The perfect party favour in minutes. Just enough time left for the two of you to practice that famous lift.

Sprinkle the confetti, chill the rosé, blend the salmon mousse, toast the triangles. Cheers!
