About twenty years ago Mirjam Bleeker and Frank Visser embarked on their first trip together. They headed off to Latin America where they spent three months exploring the continent and it wasn’t long before they discovered a shared sense of style and direction – both were drawn to beautiful chance findings and things that were a bit rough around the edges.
Fast forward to present day and the pair have travelled all of the globe, each trip with little planned and no specific itinerary. They published a book, At The Ocean, two years ago and now present us with Close To Nature – an ode to homes with a personal touch, which have been designed with profound respect for the nature that surrounds them, and to the inspiring people who have opened their doors to them.
Close To Nature serves as a record of their travels together over the years and each page is guaranteed to induce a serious case of wanderlust in the reader. Their journeys around the globe have enabled them to capture some truly awe inspiring images that have a way of imprinting themselves in ones brain and heart – from a stark, concrete refuge for artists on the Mexican coastline, to a lived-in butcher’s shop in Argentina, the homes that feature in Close To Nature are off the road in every sense of the word.
