Calitzdorp Port and Wine Festival

Venue: Calitzdorp

ABSA and well-known  Port producers, such as Axe Hill, Boplaas and De Krans are hosting the 2013 Calitzdorp Port and Wine Festival. It will take place on the long weekend, Friday 14 June until Monday 17 June. Main events will commence from the Calitzdorp Railway Station and will continue at the various wine cellars and into the Calitzdorp village. Those of you who have attended the festival before will enjoy popular events but also new and exciting ones.


Cook Franschhoek

Diary Dates: 15th -16th June

Venue: Franschhoek Wine Valley

The annual Cook Franshoek will once again be taking place in ‘South Africa’s culinary capital’. The Franschhoek Wine Valley will host a number of  demonstrations by some of it’s top chefs and wine producers, giving visitors the chance to learn the art of charcuterie, bread making and chocolate making amongst many others.

Zimbabwean born artist Kudzanai Chiurai presents his exhibition of prints, posters and film exploring the theme of  gender violence and mourning in the public realm, relating specifically to June 16th. Visitors to the exhibit will be able to walk away with posters and t-shirts that they can then use in their own activism and commemoration  in public spaces where violence has occurred.
