The Style Room

Currently under way at the Netherland’s Noordbrabants Museum is ‘Co-Evolution’, an exhibition of highlights from the first 12 years of the careers of designers Joost van Bleiswijk and Kiki van Eijk. With a total of eighty pieces, the exhibit focuses on three aspects of the duo’s portfolios; a chronological display, a style room and inspiration filled cabinets.

The main room houses the chronological display, with the works of each designer placed on opposite sides of a custom-made glass and metal cabinet which holds the various sources of their inspiration. The designers penned personal explanations of each other’s pieces and these have been placed along side the displays.

‘The Style Room’ combines the work of both designers to create their ideal living room, the centre piece of which is the ‘Light a Moment’ lantern they designed in collaboration with Laikingland.

The exhibition coincides with the publication of a book of their collective work, also titled ‘Co-evolution’.
