Style icon Donna Karan is synonymous with all things fashion. The world famous designer has dressed some of the most beautiful woman but Karan’s heart belongs to Haiti.
Karan aligned herself with the Urban Zen Foundation in order to help those devastated by the earthquake in 2010. Fashion for Haiti: One Million hearts is a fundraising project which brings together 150 of the most well known designers, including Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta and Vera Wang. Each designer customized a papier-mâché heart that will then be auctioned on eBay in an effort to raise funds and social awareness for the Haitian Artisan project.
Profits from the auctioned hearts will go towards creating jobs, vocational education and highlighting the creativity of Haiti’s artisans. If you would like to get involved customize your very own heart by purchasing one from www.12smallthings.com. Keep it as a reminder or give it to someone who needs it either way you can be apart of the Million Hearts for Haiti.
