Capetonians can enjoy returning to the Fanwalk this Wednesday afternoon when they visit the Designer/ Artisan Festive Market. This Christmas market will be taking place from 3pm in the beautiful historical courtyard behind the Lutheran Church, just near to the pedestrian bridge on de Waterkant Street in central Cape Town.

You’ll find great gifts from more than 50 exhibitors, of the likes of Heartworks, Design Africa and Textures, with yummy textiles from Helon Melon, Skinny laMinx and Cathy Mellor, and ceramics from Clementina van der Walt. All exhibitors were all hand-picked by Lauren Shantall – previously DECO deputy editor, and now Head of the Freeworld Design Centre.

There’ll also be food, with traditional German Christmas from Birds Cafe, and food from Jacques Erasmus’ gorgeous new Hemelhuijs cafe too.

And once you’ve enjoyed shopping and eating, try a spot of the true meaning of Christmas by attending the traditional Carols by Candlelight inside the Lutheran Church. Sounds like a very special occasion all round.
