Our guest blogger from Sydney, Elana Castle, brings us a pop of Aussie style today. Take it away, Elana!
Dinosaur Designs seem to pop up just about everywhere. I’ve seen their distinctive products in an array of magazines, on design blogs and on the fingers, necks and wrists of many Sydneysiders. Turns out, (hardly surprising given the wealth of media coverage), it is one of Australia’s most popular and enduring jewellery and homeware brands.
The company was founded by Louise Olsen, Stephen Ormandy and Liane Rossler who met whilst studying drawing and painting at a Sydney art school. Since founding their business in 1985, they haven’t looked back, blurring the boundaries of art, fashion and craft as they’ve launched many successful ranges over the years. There is a particularly Australian feel to their work inspired by the colours and forms of the vibrant Australian natural landscape.
I am mostly drawn to the homewares and these are some of my favourites from previous collections.
Their latest range is called “Coral Sea” and is a selection of their best selling classic products that have been “re-made” in new and exciting colour ways including rusty pearl copper, pearl plum, brown, tomato, peachy coral and hot pink.
