Last year we saw the launch of the first interactive fashion cupboard in South Africa. Today it’s officially open for business and along with the ELLE fashion team, we’ll be curating beautiful, 360 displays with various fashion, beauty and décor products.
Our first project was a collaboration between décor and fashion power brands styled up by Rachel Rowberry & Rosemary Bangham. These two ladies are young designers, stylists and manufacturers of upcycled and recycled jewellery, homeware and dressing-up collections. They have been friends since 2005, when they met in Swaziland. Here they realised their fascination with curios, button beads, textures and a passion for converting trash to treasure. They converted their love for crafting into a career and called themselves Lucky Bean Love.
We asked Rosemary and Rachel about their inspiration behind the shoot…
We were inspired by all the delicious jungle print that is everywhere at the moment, in print, on cushions and every t-shirt, shorts and skirts, when you walk around town. Once we decided on the jungle, copper and geometric theme, designers and products started popping up everywhere we looked. It was quite amusing to walk into a design studio to collect a product we had sourced online only to find gorgeous monster prints on cushions.

All the designers we worked with with were so friendly and obliging that we ended up walking out with armfuls of perfect products…
