The ELLE DECO Reader event in association with Le Creuset took place on Saturday 23rd of August on the beautiful Spier Wine Estate. The spring weather made for a lovely relaxing day with good food, wine and great entertainment.

Guests were entertained and informed by Spier Wine Maker, Johan Jordaan who showed readers how to blend their own wines. This took place amidst a lot of laughter and bantering and was an excellent ice breaker for the day.
The wine tasting and blending exercise, was followed by ELLE DECO’s Laureen Rossouw inspirational talk on design trends – specifically looking at what is happening in the African continent and how it is impacting on local (and international) design trends.

Franck Dangereux, Foodbarn chef, demonstrated a delicious three course meal of Goats cheese tartine, “Daube Provencale”, Gratin Dauphinois and guava bread and butter pudding.
Guests could afterwards enjoy this delicious meal plated and served in Le Creuset cutlery
Farmer Angus (Spier’s very own biodynamic agricultural farmer) also made a guest appearance. His produce is used at Spier’s Eight restaurant as well as some of the top restaurants in the region.
The meal was prepared by Eight restaurant and was accompanied by Spier wines.
A truly memorable day!
