DECO’s radar took a big blip with The Tomorrow Collective’s stylish product design featured in our Sustainable by Design feature in the latest issue. Inspired by these exquisite Swedish designs, we looked closer to home for easy, convenient kits and ingredients to be able to make your own homegrown produce – and discovered Finest Kind.
The beautiful product design work from thetomorrowcollective.se was selected by DECO to represent the blossoming Home Grown trend of greener living.
The Tomorrow Collective is about
exploring ways of enabling us to live a sustainable life in the future. Inspired by past knowledge of how to grow, make and be, the project presents concepts for modern tools and systems.
The designs featured include a cleaning kit, seed and nut oil press, vinegar making kit and a cheese maker so exquisite it will have you buy into this lifestyle if you still have any doubts.
MAKE YOUR OWN
Can you think of anything better than making your own cheese and yoghurt? Well Finest Kind based in Plettenberg Bay makes this all very possible with ingredients and equipment to make your own cheese, butter and yoghurt including Mozarella, Gouda, Camembert and Feta. And don’t be intimidated because the Finest Kind clients range from the smallholder with one cow, goat or sheep who has never made cheese before to large well-known factories. You can look at getting going with mozzarella and yoghurt kits starting at R434, and, with 20 years’ experience, Finest Kind also offers its clients couriered delivery of orders, informed technical advice, friendly service and recipes free of charge with first orders.
