On the first Thursday of every month, Cape Town’s streets become a museum, a gallery, a shopping experience. Walk the streets and enjoy an evening of art, entertainment and culture until 9pm.
Starting off the weekend early, First Thursdays is the perfect opportunity to casually stroll through Cape Town’s city streets and soak up the finest creative talent. A selection of galleries are open till late and once you’ve seen all there is to see, lovely eateries and bars are open in the area.
An idea borrowed from the UK, First Thursdays is an exercise in infusing creativity and getting people onto the streets. A buzzing atmosphere, fresh ideas and enthused people is the perfect combination for an exciting start to the weekend. And, you might just pick up your next masterpiece!
