This week we stumbled upon Laura Muthesius and Nora Eisermann, two young women living in Germany. These two are a match made in food heaven, with Nora styling beautiful gluten-free plates and Laura capturing them in all their splendor. Together they produce beautiful virtual food stories for you to follow.

With their studio based just outside of Berlin, in the countryside, they live a life most of us could only dream of, surrounded by an abundance of apples, pears, berries and fresh herbs. All the recipes they produce use only organic ingredients sourced themselves or from their local farmers’ market. We decided to try out one of their Iced Coffee recipes, perfect for the warm days ahead!

2 Banana’s
1/2 pack of vanilla sugar
1 can of sweetened caramel
whipping cream
coffee (chilled)

Create your banana ice-cream.
Cut bananas in to thin slices and leave for 2 hours in the freezer (ensure you place them on baking/sandwich paper, side by side, so they do not stick to each other). Once frozen, blend together with vanilla sugar and leave the result in a freezer for 2 hours.

If you don’t manage to purchase vanilla sugar in store, mix 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract for every 2 cups of sugar and leave to air dry for an hour or two. It may turn out a bit clumpy but you can stir until consistent.

Serve it.
Whip some cream, fill your glasses with ice cubes and chilled coffee. Drop in a scoop of your banana ice-cream and top with whipped cream and caramel drizzle. An added extra would be almond shavings or banana chips!
