2015 sees the first edition of the new international cultural project ‘GRID Cape Town Biennial’, taking place at the The Castle of Good Hope from the 14th of February until 15th of March 2015.
GRID is a unique project, which showcases current trends in contemporary photography and visual arts. The focus is to create an international platform for creatives worldwide, exchanging vision and cultures to inspire international dialogue.
The exhibition’s central theme is ‘Construction’ with focus on ‘Construction of the image’, ‘Architectural Construction’ and ‘Construction of Identity’. Fitting the theme perfectly, The Castle of Good Hope will be the location to showcase international as well as South African photographers. Further exhibitions, events and talks will take place at Work Shop 17 in the V&A Waterfront, 6 Spin Street and Gallery F.
GRID – International Photography Biennial is organised by the Amsterdam Photo Foundation. Before coming to Cape Town they successfully held 6 events in the Netherlands.
