London wasn’t the only place fizzing with Jubilee fever this week. And the Queen wasn’t the only ma’am in the universe celebrating sixty big ones.
At Halfaampieskraal – a remote plaashuis on a sheep farm in the Overberg – there was another festive Sixtieth on the go.
In true Halfaampies style, the table looked grand and the food was beautiful. Even Napoleon Bonaparte was there.
The croquembouche – a Halfaampieskraal speciality – made of eclairs and choccies, and the cake topper with Her Majesty presiding over the party, was a triumph.
