‘Heart of Gold’ Exhibition starts Wednesday 27 March

There’s a lot on, this Wednesday in Cape Town. Not only is it the launch of the Tom Dixon Shop-In-Shop at Crema Design (and our readers are invited) but it’s also the opening of the Heart of Gold exhibition at Salon91 . So once you’ve popped past Crema Design in Greenpoint and had a spin ¬†at winning the stunning Tom Dixon ‘Hex’ bowl, head over to the ‘Heart of Gold’ exhibition where notions of consumerism are questioned. (It’ll make you feel a little better if you weren’t lucky enough to get your hands on that Tom Dixon bowl.)

‘Heart of Gold’ is a playful exploration of the concepts of money, consumerism and greed. Following the form of their previous project Fear.Less, artists Daniel Ting Chong and Jordan Metcalf have played with scale and medium to re-contextualise consumer-based iconography and lexicon as art. The pieces are stark, sleek and graphic, using limited colour palettes and diverse mediums such as glass, paper, wood and ceramics.

Opening night 27 March: 18:30
