Having just moved into a new flat, I am always on the lookout for great ways to spruce up my place with very little cash. I absolutely love succulents and was inspired by the gorgeous ‘urban garden’ in the Joburg home of our latest International issue (featured below). Succulents create instant greenery in the home – no outdoor space required – and are very low maintenance. I found an old veg stand for R75 at an antique shop in Kalk Bay, and zoomed off to the local nursery for some bargain succulents. The ‘dead space’ in front of my non-working fireplace has now been transformed into a beautiful living space for under R150. Anyone else inspired to make one this weekend?
