Guest blogger, Cape Town designer Jaco Janse van Rensburg, sent us a few more images from his Instant Grass interior revamp – and more tips for you to copy at home. (See Jaco’s first post here.)

Says Jaco:

‘The back of the canteen door was painted in blackboard paint for staff to write their shopping lists. This space features an 11 meter table that eventually becomes the main work table. I used curtains to create rooms within the open space to provide privacy, but also absorb sound.’

‘Bright plastic crates become storage space for everyone’s personal effects and laundry baskets for recycling stations. The LOVE sign was created with adhesive vinyl at a local signage shop – cheap as chips!’

‘The book shelves in the library are a great find from Mr. Price at about R1000 per unit – you can assemble them in 15 minutes.’

‘These 3 carpets (bought on sale at Boardmans) create informal meeting spaces, each with an unusual chair to welcome conversation and spontaneous brainstorm sessions. The guitar is another idea of how to create instant art.’
