Easy going living with Home Ibiza as seen in Elle Decoration Summer issue Photographs Gaelle le Boulicaut

After spending a couple of idyllic summer holidays in Ibiza’s northern country, Roze and Pierre decided to leave the fast paced Parisian lifestyle behind and call a traditional Spanish farmhouse home.

Built over generations, this traditional fincas rústicas sits in a rambling garden filled with the scent of fruits, flowers and herbs. This private oasis features in Elle Decoration’s Summer issue and is located in the quiet northern area of the island, with dry, rocky landscape surrounds – a far cry from the pulsing party area of Ibiza.

‘The garden was just one of the reasons we wanted to live here. It’s bigger than what we were looking for, but what could we do? We fell in love.’ – Roze

Roze, a magazine editor and Pierre, a professional basketball player, now own a boutique Hotel Los Enamorados down the road from their farmhouse. The couple were adamant to keep the history of the home and maintain its easy going charm, keeping even the sole access to the bathroom from outdoors and instead adding ‘watering points’ in each bedroom.

‘It’s natural,’ says Pierre. ‘We try not to think about it too much. We buy what we like, most of it second-hand, and we just go with the flow. I believe it’s the house that tells you what you should do to it. A house’s history and form deserve respect. Never, ever deny a building its own history.’

Outdoors, hammocks, daybeds and shaded eating areas under trees are testament to an easy-going lifestyle.
