The Primates Collection by Elena Salmistraros

If you caught the reference in the title of the post, a song by the rock band, The Kinks, then you will get what the primal obsession is all about.  In our September issue, we feature Elena Salmistraro’s vase creations which draw inspiration from the connection that humans have with apes.

The Primates collection from BOSA ceramics will be housed by CREḾA and available for local ceramic lovers to buy.  The brand’s design team consists of Elena Salmistraro and Jaime Hayon, the dynamic duo responsible for the products that received an astounding reception from visitors attending Maison&Objet and Milan shows.  Elena, who created the colourful vase collection, mimicked faces of primates with intricate details closely resembling the human face in mask form. These elements go so artistically well together that each of the masks has a soul of its own. The BOSA ceramics products to be included are from both Elena and Jaime, a perfect fit for the CREḾA stable.

Established in 1976, BOSA has a long standing reputation for being amongst the top ceramic brands; offering creative and fun decorative products, tableware and lighting. The Primates collection also includes decorative framed ceramic plates illustrated by Elena Salmistraro.
