Who said toast is just for jam and cheese? Why not try a couple of crispy slices topped with these fresh and flavourful ingredients.
Tomato Basil Toast
Slice some cherry tomatoes in half and roughly chop fresh basil leaves. Toss this with fresh olive oil, pinch of garlic, salt and black pepper. Serve on your choice of oven or braai toasted bread.
Prawn Pesto Toast
Clean and cook fresh prawns with butter and garlic. Smear the toast of your choice with fresh pesto and top each slice with a fragrant prawn. Season with a pinch of salt and black pepper.
Black Mushroom Toast
Pan-fry black mushrooms with thyme, butter and garlic. Place a mushroom on each slice and serve with a dollop of creme fraiche. Salt and pepper to taste.
Avo Dukkah Toast
Smash fresh avo with salt, black pepper, lemon and garlic. Spread onto bruschetta drizzled with olive oil and sprinkle with dukkah to serve.
Smoked Salmon Toast
Generously smear each slice with cottage cheese and cover with smoked salmon. Season with a pinch of salt and black pepper and a sprig of fennel.
Honey Pear Toast
Spread ricotta cheese over your toast. Place fresh sliced pears on top with walnuts and a drizzle of honey.
